This short movie is from an episode of Better Homes and Gardens. In it, Jason discusses how to construct gabion pots and sculptures. A gabion is a cage, cylinder, or box filled with rocks, concrete or sand and soil and according to the video, can be used for retaining walls and landscapes. I'm still exploring the concept of the trellis in my design and in the tutorial this week, with wire mesh being suggested in the tutorial.
The columns on the second storey (Givenchy) could be made of stainless steel mesh which would act as a frame for a vertical wall. Plastic and fabric could be slid into the gabion columns and an irrigation system could be set up at the top which would allow water to drip down the column.
