Nature represents many things, both positive and negative. It symbolises nourishment, growth, and raw authenticity but is also characterised by power - destructive power - and danger. This image perhaps does not represent the dangerousness of the wilderness, but I think that it shows the force of nature over man made aspects of our world. I tend to romanticise things, but to me the bench is like a treasure in the stifling metropolitan city, ready to be unearthed like an ancient fossil. It's a resting place designed for healing, soothing, and reparation. Sustainability rulez.
