The Parthenon in Athens, commissioned by Pericles and completed in 432 BC
I consider the Parthenon a great piece of architecture for many reasons but the aspect of it I find most interesting are the columns - specifically its use of the golden ratio, which to me, symbolises the steadfast connections in our universe with the ratio being found in every facet of our lives from our faces to our DNA to the very far, swirling galaxies in our universe.
